DRAFT, pending operator and legal approval. This text describes the app as built, but it has not been approved yet. Do not rely on it until this note is gone.
Privacy policy
Simple20 is published by Gigabite Technologies. We collect what the app needs to count you toward a group of families and to email you when it fills. Nothing else.
What we collect
- Your email address and your name
- As Apple or Google give them to us when you sign in. We ask for them so we can email you when 12 families join a business. Nothing is collected before your first Join: you browse without an account.
- Your account identifier
- An account number we create for you, and the identifier Apple or Google uses for you with us. Together they are how a later sign-in finds your account again, and that is all they do.
- Your push token
- A device identifier issued by Expo, stored only if you allow notifications, and used only to send you the one notification when a group reaches 12.
- Which businesses you joined, and when
- The businesses you have said you are interested in, with the date you joined each, so we can count families and tell you when a group fills. We tell a business how many families are interested, never who they are.
What we do not store
- Your location
- If you allow it, your phone gives the app your location to measure distances to businesses near you. That happens on your device. We do not send it to our servers and we do not store it. If you type a zip code instead, it is held in the app's memory while you use it and is not stored either.
What we never collect
- Anything about your children. The app does not ask for a child's name, age or anything else about them.
- Payment details. There are no payments in the app.
- Your contacts, photos, calendar, microphone or health data.
There are no ads in Simple20. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we run no analytics or advertising software, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who else handles your information
We use these companies to run the app. Each one gets only what its job needs.
- Render
- Hosting and the database that holds your email, your name, your account identifier and the businesses you joined.
- Expo
- Delivers the notification to your device, using your push token.
- Sends our email through Gmail. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google also handles that sign-in.
- Apple
- If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple handles that sign-in.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. There is no other expiry.
How to delete your account
In the app: open Account, then Delete account. That removes your account and the groups you joined, and it cannot be undone.
Without the app, or if you would rather we did it: ask us on the delete your account page. Either way the deletion is complete within 30 days.
Children
Simple20 is for adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from a child.
Your choices
- Browse without signing in. Sign-in is asked for only at your first Join.
- Refuse the location prompt and type a zip code instead.
- Refuse notifications. You still join, and we still email you.
- Leave a group at any time, from the business's page in the app.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by email.
